Breaking out of my comfort zone

Fashion is something that is meant to be fun, it’s about pushing boundaries and showing your personality on the outside. I love fashion, I can spend hours flicking through vogue and imagining owning the amazing couture runway pieces that grace their pages but unfortunately I'm on a budget so that won’t be happening for a while.
Until the day comes when I marry a mega rich oil tycoon or win 100 million on the lottery I will have to stick to buying my clothes from Asos Curve and Next. For a long time I liked to conform to what was expected, wearing jeans and baggy jumpers or t-shirts, until I realised that pulling those clothes out of my wardrobe gave me no happiness at all. They also didn't show who I really was as a person, I had no personality to my style, and how I was feeling on the inside was never reflected on the outside.

This zebra print matching jacket and trouser suit is one of my favourite recent finds, after going to Marks and Spencer’s in search of some bras I found this little gem hiding in the sale section, in my size, screaming my name! As is soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it. It was a complete bargain at £70 for both pieces which was a massive reduction from the near £120. I wouldn’t normally splash £70 on a suit like this but the pieces separately also have their own merit, the jacket over a simple t-shirt and a pair of jeans makes a really cute every day look. The trousers teamed with a smart black shirt, a black jacket or fur coat and a pair of heals and you have yourself a smart little outfit for drinks out with the girls. Or like me, if you don’t care about having an occasion to wear a frickin amazing outfit then you can wear both together, pared with some statement earrings, a comfy top and some dolly shoes or a pair of white trainers for a relaxed street style look.

Don't be afraid to be what you want to be! Want to wear cool and outlandish clothing that shows off your amazing personality? Stand out and be seen, break all the rules!
Sometimes when you are plus size or don't conform to normal sizing it can be hard to be stylish and find interesting pieces like this suit but with a little patience and searching you can find some really cool and unique additions to your closet.
So remember;
- Dress how you want to dress.
- Show your personality through your clothing.
- Patience and searching.
- And never be scared to express yourself the way you want to.
I wore this outfit for a day out in Leeds, shopping and I felt more comfortable than I thought I would. Although I was wearing a zebra print suit which surely attracted some judgmental looks for passers by, I felt liberated and stylish which is everything you can ask for from an outfit such as this one.
